We're delighted to bring you our new menu for Summer Term 2019

All ingredients, take home packaging, drinks and snacks are included in the price of £20.

All sessions are held on Saturday afternoons from 2pm - 5pm 

These sessions are for children in school year groups 1 - 11

Where dates are unavailable, this is due to the Church needing the hall for it's own purposes.

Summer Term 2019 Sessions:

27th April - Apple Pies

We will be making our own sweet pastry, making a delicious apple filling, then creating 6 apple pies that Mr Kipling would be jealous of!

18th May - Home-made 'Oreo' biscuits

We'll start by making the chocolate biscuit dough, then we'll roll it out, cut into circles and add our own styling. Whilst they are baking, we'll be making the vanilla filling, and finally putting it all together to make a stack of delicious oreo treats.

25th May - Cheese and onion smileys

Our cheese and onion pies were really popular, so we're going to start by making savoury pastry, then the caramelised onion, potato and cheese filling, then we'll combine it all to make these really fun smile-shaped savoury snacks.

 

1st June - Salted caramel popcorn cupcakes

We'll be making 6 decadent cupcakes this week! We'll start by making salted caramel cake batter, and whilst that's cooking, we'll make the chocolate buttercream, and salted caramel sauce. Once the cakes have cooled, we'll be piping the icing over the top, adding popcorn, and then finally drizzling it all with the salted caramel sauce.

15th June - The Budding Chef's Club & YouCrew the YouTube video creator Academy special Father's Day event. *** Special event runs 10am - 3pm***

Back in January, we held a collaboration day with our friends over at CrookedTree Event - YouCrew the YouTube video creator academy. We had a fantastic response and sold out in just a few days. We promised we'd hold another event, and this time, its BIGGER! The date coincides with Father's Day, which is the theme for the event.

 

Children will work in teams of 3 to come up with their own Fake-away restaurant, design the uniform, packaging and branding, then write, produce, star in and edit their own commercial.

 

Tamara will teach the children how to use the iPads to create video, use props, green screens, and edit their videos - adding text, music and special effects to make it really pop. In amongst all that, they'll also all be making a very special cake, from scratch, to take home for the special Dad, Step-Dad, Grandad or Uncle in their lives. We won't tell you what it is, but it goes with the Fake-away restaurant theme!

 

The cooking, decoration and final outcome will all be featured in their YouTube style videos. Due to the nature of this event, you must be happy for your child to be recorded and included in the finished video, which may be shared on CrookedTree Events' YouTube channel, and on social media.

22nd June - Mint Chocolate Brownies

What's better than a delicious chocolatey gooey brownie? A takeaway box that's full of chocolatey, gooey brownies stuffed with mint Aero bubbles of course!

6th July Fruity Pop Tarts

We're adding our own style to the iconic breakfast snack this week. We'll be making everything from the sweet, crumbly pastry, to the super fruity filling, and finishing it off with bright coloured icing and sprinkles. 

13th July - Orange drizzle cake

Slightly different to one of Britain's favourite cakes - the lemon drizzle cake, we'll be swapping one citrus fruit for another to make a seriously moist cake, with a zesty sugar glaze.

20th July - The Big Butterfly Count Cupcakes

In honour of the 2019 launch of The Butterfly Conservation's Big Count Fortnight, we're going to make 6 light and fluffy butterfly cupcakes. We'll be injecting them with strawberry jam, using food-safe syringes for a bit of added fun. Every child will take home a Chart to record how many butterflies they can spot in a short period.
